About Latrice Melanie

Latrice's interest in fashion design began in her early childhood. As a child, she collected fashion sewing books and practiced her catwalk. In high school, her mother taught her jewelry making to ingrain entrepreneurship and the importance of pursuing a passion.

Her relationship to design is innate, as she comes from a family of Artisans.

2012 saw the launch of Latrice Melanie's collection of handmade jewelry. After completing her fashion design studies in Los Angeles, she built her six-year career as an assistant designer in womenswear. While pursuing her career as a designer, she spent her weekends showcasing her work across Los Angeles—at artisanal markets, boutiques, and museums.

She incorporates elements of nature, the dream realm, and her cultural experiences into her designs, which are influenced by her ancestral connections to her Mexican African-American heritage.
